Good books on How a Car Works?

I’m interested in learning the many parts of the car. Now i have no experience with electronics or automotive but I’d appreciate a clear interconnected explanation on what is happening to make a car work (ie. how the engine works, how the brakes work, why unleaded fuel, etc).
